Friday 16th & Saturday 17th June

On Friday 16th and Saturday 17th June 2023, Embassy Gardens will bring together a collective of Irish creatives to celebrate the uniquely Irish event, Bloomsday. We are delighted to be co-hosting here at Darby's.

Bloomsday is a celebration centred around James Joyce’s Ulysses, traditionally hosted in Dublin in Robin's home town of Glasthule where the idea to bring it to London originated. Bloomsday at Embassy Gardens will be a two-day event, hosting a range of performances, from spoken word to music and beyond.

Saturday 17th June will see a day of outdoor festivities across Embassy Gardens from 12pm-9pm, including a pop-up market, bars, Irish dancing, live music, and authors and musicians performing readings, including a words and music performance from Irish singer-songwriter Imelda May featuring Niall McNamee, who will be closing the Saturday at 8:30PM on the outdoor stage. Official event partner Jameson Irish Whiskey will host a special Jameson bar serving cocktails. This is a free event but spaces are limited so please register here.

On the Friday and Saturday evening, we will be offering a unique four course set menu (£65pp) along with some special dishes on our regular menu highlighting Irish produce and inspired by passages from the book.

Across the two days, we will be offering an extensive snack menu and specials in our bar and on the terrace. There will be live music and performances throughout. We will also be hosting the afterparty on Saturday evening with DJ set from A Man to Pet.
